From Piemonte to New York, Giancarlo shares his lockdown experience with Giancarlo. He discussed how it changed his routine from a frequent traveler for Slow Wine Guide. He stays at home and finds the opportunity to focus on his exercise routine, cooking with his wife, teaching his daughter, and even writing a fiction book! Giuseppe likewise talked about his cooking hobby with his wife, and wines he would pair with.

Since 2010, Giancarlo Gariglio contributes to the creation of the Slow Wine Guide and becomes the Guide’s curator a year later. By 2012, Slow Wine is published in both Italian and English. He is the leading force of the Slow Wine Guide, in addition to the author of numerous books under the Slow Food umbrella such as Easy Wine, Le Migliori 100 Bollicine d’Italia, I migliori 100 Vini Rosa d’Italia. Since his beginning with Slow Food in 2001, he cultivated his love of wine and rural culture and began to take part in regional tasting commissions for the Italian Wines guide published by Gambero Rosso and Slow Food Editore. Since 2003 he has contributed to numerous newspapers and periodicals: from the magazine Slowfood, of which he is a sub-editor, to La Stampa and its supplement Specchio, Il Manifesto and Famiglia Cristiana. In 2007 he was head organizer of the ‘Vignerons d’Europe’ event in Montpellier in France, in which 600 winegrowers from all over Europe met to talk and swap ideas about the problems and prospects of their sector. In the wake of this important experience, the following year, he and a numerous group of vignerons founded Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti (FIVI); he enacted as the association’s secretary general.

Giuseppe Leonardo LoCascio is an Owner/Managing Director of Giuseppe LoCascio – Selezioni Varietali, and Expert in Fine Wine Brand Management and Import/Distribution Strategies. He is one of the few US-based Italian Wine Ambassador for the Vinitaly International Academy program. In January 2017, Giuseppe founded his own Consulting Company and Import Agency, based in NYC. As an Agent, Giuseppe serves 12 US Markets with a selection of high quality Italian wineries.August 2016, Giuseppe was the Vice President of Portfolio Management for Leonardo LoCascio Selections, the Italian Wine Imports Division of The Winebow Group. Prior to this position, Giuseppe worked at The Winebow Group as the Director of Brand Management for Italy and Austria, as National Brand Manager for the Allegrini Group and as Sales Manager for New York City and Westchester County. During his career in the Wine Industry, Giuseppe has developed new sales analysis techniques particularly suited for high quality wines. He believes that fine wine marketing is very similar to fashion and design marketing, with relevant intangible components coming into play when consumers make their purchasing decisions.
